Sonik requires a Raspberry Pi with at least 1 GB of RAM.

Warning

A touchscreen display is not supported on the Raspberry Pi 3A+.

Sonik also supports the Allo Usbridge Signature (a legacy network bridge, now discontinued) and the Orchard Audio PecanPi+ (paired with a Raspberry Pi 3).

Audio HATs

Sonik supports an extensive range of HATs. If you have a HAT attached, configure it in the Audio tab of the web interface. Some HATs support automatic detection and are configured during installation.

USB DACs

Any USB audio device that follows the USB Audio standard works with Sonik out of the box. Connect your DAC, and Sonik will detect it automatically.

Native DSD

For USB DACs that support native DSD, Sonik includes explicit kernel-level patches for the following models. All other USB DACs fall back to DoP (DSD over PCM), which works reliably in almost all cases.

Note

Native DSD offers no audible advantage over DoP. The main practical difference is slightly lower bandwidth usage, which can allow higher maximum sample rates on some DACs.
